Ah. My favorite books in the bible are John, 1st John,2nd John,3rd John and Hebrews.
In Chapter 4 There are some interesting things happening:
In Verse 10 Jesus makes some statements, "If you knew the gift of God", and "who is it who says to you".
Questions: Who was the one who spoke to the lady? The Gift of God.
How is Jesus YOUR gift from God?? HINT: It's not just that he died on the cross for you.
In verse 13-16 Jesus talks about living water, and that whoever drinks of this water will never thirst again...Humm...what did the lady then ask for? Living water ... this is where it gets good! Jesus then begins to give her living water. How did He do that?
On to chapter 5. In verse 14 after Jesus heals the man at the pool of Bethesda, they meet up again later. What was the one thing Jesus said to him? Why did He tell the man that, and what does that imply about sin?
In verse 19 Jesus says He can do NOTHING of Himself but what he sees the Father do. Jesus only did what the Father did... so we know the heart of the Father by watching what Jesus did... so the big question:
What DID Jesus do??
In verse 36 Jesus says he does the works the Father gave Him to do.
What are those "works"?
Here in chapter 6 we see a full circle, Jesus talks about not laboring for the food which perishes but the food which endures to everlasting life. What is that food? Look back at Chapter 5:34. I now ask you, what food do you labor for?
Blessings, Ricardo
